Educate Boston

In a recent school committee meeting Superintendent Dr. Carol Johnson announced the closing of 8 Boston Public Schools and the merging of several others.  This act will result in relocation of many students in the Boston area. By relocating them the students lose opportunities that they had such as after school programs.
The Boston Public Education crisis is a problem that's affecting thousands of children in state of Massachusetts. As the budget goes down and expenses go up, schools and working positions are being merged and weeded out to minimize deficit and increase productivity. With 82% of the budget already dedicated to teachers’ salaries and benefits, is the closing of schools really the answer?
